Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf has labelled Hakim Ziyech’s performance against Southampton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night as poor.

Chelsea edged past Southampton into the Carabao Cup quarter finals after winning 4-3 on penalties.

Ziyech started the game against Southampton but to be substituted for Mason Mount in the 67th minute and he didn’t do enough to convince Leboeuf.

“Chelsea went through with a new defence with not much experience. I saw a good Kovacic. A poor Ziyech,” Leboeuf told ESPN.

In fairness, Ziyech’s corner assisted Kai Havertz’s goal against Southampton but we also must admit Ziyech can do better and we have seen him deliver better in a Chelsea shirt before.
