Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has explained why he signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan during the summer.
Lukaku became Chelsea’s most expensive signing ever after joining from Italian champions Inter Milan for £97.5million.
The Belgium international scored four goals in his first four games for Chelsea bur hasn’t scored in his last five for the Blues.
“I’m sorry for the Inter fans, but like everyone, we try to improve our formation,” Thomas Tuchel said about signing Romelu Lukaku, as per Football Italia.
“We were looking for a very physical striker, a point of reference, a player with a personality who could lift the pressure off the shoulders of the younger players and give us the chance to play faster football.
“Returning to England, where he played as a young man, was important for him. I knew he was an extraordinary person.”
