Chelsea midfielder Jorginho was the club’s top scorer in the league last season as he scored 7 goals last term, and all came from the spot.
Chelsea strikers couldn’t find the net on a regular basis last season, which led the club to spend a whopping £97.5m to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has now vowed that what happened last season won’t repeat itself this season, as he has said that his forward players and not Jorginho will be the team’s top scorer this season.
Tuchel said in his media briefing: “In the end we hope that it will not be Jorgi at the end of the season that is our top scorer. Not again!
“We like him a lot and it’s no offence to him, but we hope that it is our main attacking guys and our strikers who are the guys that score regularly and we can create and provide chances for them.
“This is what we want and still it is good that we are dangerous from several positions, we are dangerous from set-pieces, and that is what we want.”
