Chelsea strikers Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner went off injured in the first half of the Champions League clash against Malmo.

Lukaku and Werner also missed the 7-0 bashing of Norwich, and the duo would also miss this weekend’s league clash against Newcastle.

Tuchel has revealed that his two strikers will miss the Champions League game against Malmo but backed Christian Pulisic to be back for next weekend’s game against Burnley even though he has since resumed training.

For Werner and Lukaku, they will make their return after the international break.

Tuchel said in his press conference: “I’m not a friend of deadlines and putting pressure on expectations but I can tell you that it’s realistic that both of them have a new target and that is after the international break.

“This is what we aim for and what they aim for.

“Christian is looking forward to the Burnley match. If everything goes right, he should be in the squad then and ready to play.”
