Mendy: Wasn’t tested much but had to do the odd job of bringing the ball out of his net after conceding from a penalty. Had one jittery moment where he tried to do a dummy on Redmond. 6/10

Chalobah: Top performance from the young defender. Scored the opening goal in the first half and was solid defensively. 8/10

Thiago Silva: Caught out Redmond in an important foul, in a move that almost cost the team. Comfortable at the back. 7/10

Rudiger: Solid defensive performance as he marked out Armstrong from the game. Had one fine moment with a run from deep to led a Lukaku goal being ruled out. 7/10

Azpilicueta: Energetic performance as a right wing-back and his assist for Timo Werner’s goal was top class. 8/10

Kovacic: Had a brilliant first half performance where he carried the ball brilliantly. His second half performance was a bit subdued. Taken off for Jorginho in the last 15 minutes of the game. 7/10

Loftus-Cheek: He has definitely won his way into Tuchel’s plans and his performance today did him a world of good. He was brilliant on the ball, drove forward at will and was very confident. 7.5/10

Hudson-Odoi: Very brilliant first half performance as he was lively for much of the game. Couldn’t find much past former Chelsea youngster Livramento. 7/10

Chilwell: He had a very fine start to the game down the left flank. However, his second-half performance was suspect as he caught Livramento for a needless penalty. Made up for his mistake with a stunning late goal. 7/10

Werner: Had a very good game and put in a lively performance. Had a goal harshly ruled out by VAR, but ended up scoring the crucial second goal for Chelsea. 8/10

Lukaku: Had a goal correctly ruled out for offside. Wasn’t given much today but he was dangerous nevertheless. 7/10

Mount: His introduction changed the game for Chelsea as the intensity of the team’s play went higher. Fine game from the 22-year-old. 7/10

Jorginho: Brought stability to the midfield after replacing Kovacic. 6/10

Barkley: Great pass to Azpilicueta for Werner’s winner as he came on with 8 minutes left of the game. 7/10
