According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Real Madrid are keen on signing Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer and are ready to start negotiations in January.
The Germany international is out of contract with Chelsea next summer and has so far stalled on signing a new contract as he holds out for a £200,000-a-week contract.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are keen to bolster their back-line after losing both Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane over the summer and have identified Rudiger as the ideal signing for the Spanish side.
Although Rudiger is likely to want wages in excess of £200,000-a-week and a massive signing-on fee, Real feel any deal would represent value for money.
With Chelsea reluctant to pay Rudiger £200,000-a-week, the German international is attracting interest from Real Madrid and also Bayern Munich.
