Chelsea fans may be expecting an easy game against Newcastle United at St James Park on Saturday, but Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has a contrary opinion.

Newcastle are yet to get a win in the Premier League this season and are 19th on the table. The club’s new leadership has however made moves to change things and have appointed Graham Jones as the interim manager.

Thomas Tuchel has given his prediction ahead of the game that he’s expecting a tough contest from an emotional side who will be backed by their fans.

However, Tuchel is expecting his team to leave St James Park with the three points.

Tuchel said: “I cannot predict it, but things have changed for them, obviously, and maybe changed in the dressing room and maybe in the spirit within the club and the belief of the city and the belief of the supporters about what’s coming. Maybe that affects the atmosphere in the stadium for them and, of course, for us.

“Newcastle will try to put out their best performance, the spectators will try to help, but we are responsible for us, to set new standards and at least to meet our standards of what we demand. We expect a tough game, this cannot be a surprise because we play in the Premier League and come to a very emotional and big club.

“That’s what we’re looking for and we need to be on our best level tomorrow to have a chance to catch the three points because we’re out for the three points.”
