Mason Mount was a hat-trick hero in Chelsea’s 7-0 win over Norwich, but unfortunately the 22-year-old didn’t make the squad to face Newcastle.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel had to make do with a depleted squad, as the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic were all absent due to injury. Mount also didn’t make the squad due to illness.

Despite Chelsea’s thin squad, the Blues consolidated their place at the top of the league with a 3-0 win over Newcastle.

“Mason should have started but he got ill overnight and so we sent him home to London so that we can take care of him better and that he can recover better,” Tuchel confirmed on Saturday.

Chelsea had it difficult in the first half against the Magpies, but the team stepped up in the second half, and a Reece James brace with a Jorginho strike gave the team a 3-0 victory.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
