Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta has hailed Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich for the work he has done at the club.

The Russian bought over the club in 2003, and his investment has helped Chelsea become one of the top clubs in Europe.

Chelsea are the Champions of Europe, for the two second time in the club’s history, and Blues skipper Cesar Azpilicueta has put it down to the impact of Abramovich.

He said: “Being Champions of Europe is something that you can dream about but when you get the trophy it’s something I will always remember.

“I was very happy to see that joy from everybody. From the whole group, the ones that were lucky to play, the ones that didn’t play, all the families.

“Mr Abramovich is the owner. I know how he lives for the club, I know how he has brought Chelsea to the top of the world.

“His commitment on and off the pitch, for the society and communities, is special. When he was there [UCL final], it’s his trophy and we try to share it with him. It was very special.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
