According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Barcelona are interested in signing Chelsea striker Timo Werner in January to bolster their attacking options.
Barcelona have reportedly monitored Werner since he joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig and the German international is on the Barcelona shortlist alongside Manchester United’s Edinson Cavani and Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling.
Werner has failed to replicate his goalscoring form since joining Chelsea but he remains an important player for Thomas Tuchel due to his pace, workrate and ability to stretch play.
Barcelona reportedly rate Werner highly despite his struggles at Chelsea and are reportedly hoping to sign the German international in January.
In September, Chelsea legend Joe Cole described Werner as a “fantastic” player.
