According to German media outlet BILD via Daily Mail, German champions Bayern Munich have offered to double the salary of Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger.
Rudiger’s Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season and Bayern Munich want to sign the centre-back as a free agent next summer.
Rudiger reportedly earns around £5million yearly at Chelsea and Bayern Munich have offered to pay the 28 year old defender £10million if he leaves Chelsea for Bayern Munich.
Bayern are believed to have already contacted Rudiger’s agent and brother Sahr Senesie, according to the report.
Rudiger is believed to earn in the region of £100,000 per week at Chelsea, which among the defenders is only beaten by full-backs Cesar Azpilicueta and Ben Chilwell on £150,000 and £190,000 a week.
But should he move to Bayern and pick up the £10m pay packet, he would reportedly become their eighth best-paid player, with Lucas Hernandez the only defender who would earn more than him.
However, despite interest from Bayern Munich, Rudiger prefers to remain at Chelsea and is hoping the Blues offer him a contract that reflects his status at the club.
