Former Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong has warned Manchester United caretaker boss Michael Carrick that Chelsea are one of the strongest teams in the world.
Chelsea play Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday just days after beating Italian giants Juventus 4-0 in the Champions League.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Nigel de Jong said: “It will be a massive test for Manchester United. The game against Villarreal was a warm-up for the game that is coming up over the weekend.
“Chelsea is completely different team, we saw them destroying Juventus in the Champions League and they are by far one of the strongest teams in the world. Michael Carrick has to really prepare his team for this game.
“Carrick knows what he’s seen. I think he will pick the players accordingly to the system of Chelsea and who is in form on that particular day because also you have to see what you see through the week. It’s going to be interesting.”
