Chelsea hero predicts what will happen to Thomas Tuchel’s starting team against Malmo

Chelsea will be away to Swedish side Malmo at the Eleda Stadion this evening, and it’s a game that Chelsea are being backed to win.

Thomas Tuchel’s squad has been banging in the goals for fun this season, and despite the absence of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner due to injury, Chelsea have still been free scoring.

Chelsea hero Pat Nevin believes that Chelsea will also turn up to score a good number of goals no matter the side that Tuchel decides to feature.

Nevin wrote in his column for the official Chelsea website: “Tonight is a fabulous opportunity to keep that high-tempo, high-scoring run going. It is not that Malmo are hopeless, but they surely must have a go at us because of their position in the group. So, there should be a bit of space to break into and not a mass of defenders facing the team every time we attack, the way there were for large parts of the game against Newcastle.

“Having 80 per cent of the possession away from home against any side in the Premier League is incredible, even if they are down the wrong end of the table. The downside was that it took a while to break through because of that.

“Once again, when you look at the Chelsea team at Newcastle, that second-half midfield had no Kovacic, Kante or Mount, yet it was still miles too strong for the Magpies. Whatever team is chosen tonight, it is clear that playing well and at the pace Thomas Tuchel demands will make qualification all but a certainty in Sweden.”
