Chelsea star Christian Pulisic did not feature in the starting line up for the US national team against major rivals Mexico.

Pulisic had only just made a return from an injury he suffered in September, and is yet to start a game for his country.

USA defeated Mexico 2-0, and a massive game changer was Pulisic. The 23-year-old came on in the 69th minute of the game and scored just five minutes after coming on.

US boss Gregg Berhalter has revealed that the introduction of Pulisic gave his team a boost and put fear in the opponents.

“But when we brought in Christian, it gave the team a boost,” he told the media after the game.

“Also, I think it put some fear into Mexico since they know his quality.

“Anytime we can bring in players like that, and they can make an impact, it’s a good thing for us.”
