‘Chelsea will be better when these two players fully return to the team’, reporter says

Chelsea may be doing well in the Premier League, Cup competitions and Champions League, and many have put it down to the depth of quality in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Over the past month, Chelsea have had injury problems to some key members of the squad, but it hasn’t affected results and performance.

Surprisingly, Chelsea have been winning games without the recognised strikers in the team.

Romelu Lukaku, along with teammate Timo Werner, had been sidelined through injury since mid-October. The duo were both injured in last month’s Champions League group stage game at home to Malmo.

The duo have returned to training and are waiting to get back their match sharpness. Timo Werner made his return from injury as he scored the fourth goal in Chelsea’s 4-0 thrashing of Juventus. It was the 25-year-old’s first encounter since getting injured against Malmo, and he came off the bench to score a goal.

Lukaku could make his return to the pitch in the Premier League game against Manchester United this weekend.

ESPN pundit Don Hutchison had said before the Chelsea vs Juventus game that Chelsea will be an even greater attacking force when Werner and Lukaku fully return to the team.

“If you’re trying to play against Chelsea at this present time, you’ve got no idea who to mark because they’re scoring from all over the pitch,” Hutchison said.

“Once they have Timo Werner back, and especially Romelu Lukaku, they’re only going to get better.”
