Club ready to reject £100million bid from Chelsea for international midfielder

According to The Sun, Premier League side West Ham are ready to reject any bid from Chelsea for Declan Rice even if the Blues offer £100million for the England international midfielder.

West Ham United reportedly believe they can transform into a ‘real force’ in the Premier League by keeping hold of Rice.

Rice, 22, has been one of the top performers for West Ham, who moved up to third in the Premier League after their 3-2 victory over Liverpool on Sunday.

West Ham reportedly see Rice as a symbol of what the club stands for — and with investment from a Czech billionaire in the pipeline the Hammers are setting their sights high.

Czech businessman Daniel Kretinsky is in the final stages of negotiations to pay £150m for a 27 per cent stake in the club and is thought to be keen to provide additional finance to spend on players.

That would mean little pressure to bring in money by selling any of their stars and the club is of the view they would not be able to replace Rice even if they did get £100m of more for him.

The Blues remain interested in signing Rice who has rejected two contract offers over the past year. West Ham are under no pressure to sell the midfielder as Rice has three years left on his contract with an option to extend for another year.
