Antonio Rudiger is now seen as one of the best centre-backs in the world at the moment, but it’s a dire situation as the German international is approaching the end of his contract with Chelsea.

According to reports, Chelsea and Rudiger are far from reaching any form of agreement, and other top clubs are waiting to take advantage of the situation.

Rudiger reminded everyone of his qualities as he scored the opening goal in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel revealed after the game against Leicester City that everyone at the club wants Rudiger to stay, but asked for patience from the fans as well, as both parties continue to negotiate.

“Everybody wants him to stay, sometimes there is a delay in these things but I know he knows he plays for a fantastic club in a fantastic league so we need a bit of patience,” Tuchel said about Rudiger to BT Sport.

“Ngolo [Kante] is outstanding, he finds another gear on the pitch, when he plays with a free mind he can be the difference.

“We want to push over and over again, I am happy with the way we played and the result.”
