Chelsea legend Frank Lampard was sacked from his position as Chelsea manager earlier this year.
Lampard was in charge of Chelsea for about 18 months, before he got the sack, with Thomas Tuchel chosen as his successor.
Lampard has been hailed for the work he did at Chelsea, as a good number of the club’s academy players broke into the Chelsea first team under his watch.
The likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James and Billy Gilmour were already top players for the club.
Following the appointment of Tuchel, Gilmour would eventually go on loan to struggling Norwich City, and surprisingly, Daniel Farke opted against playing the young midfielder who has already broken into the Scotland national team.
Lampard is believed to be the favourite for the Norwich job, with Farke already axed, and former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said that Billy Gilmour will be keen for Lampard to be appointed.
“I’ll tell you one person who will be buzzing if [Lampard] goes Norwich – Billy Gilmour,” Wilshere told talkSPORT.
“He played him at Chelsea, he loves him. He’s going to help him develop as a player. I don’t know why [he’s been left out]. I think he’s unreal for his age.
“He played in the Euros, he played for a big club like Chelsea in big games, and he can’t get in the Norwich team.”
