Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was left out of the squad that travelled to Sweden on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League game against Malmo.

The Blues confirmed the 30 year old midfielder wasn’t part of the squad that travelled for the game against Malmo.

While Chelsea gave no official reason for Kante’s exclusion, it has now been claimed the France international hasn’t travelled so he can have some treatment and recovery back home.

Kante trained with the first team before their departure, so it means Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel doesn’t want to risk the midfielder against Malmo.

The Blues will also be without Romelu Lukaku, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and Timo Werner for the game against Malmo.
