Mason Mount may not always be the first name on the scoresheet, but the 22-year-old is always a threat in the attacking third, and he can as well come with the goals at times.
Mount may have only made two assists in the Premier League this season, but the 22-year-old ranks second in terms of expected assists (xA) per 90 minutes (0.42) among players with at least two starts in the Premier League this season (FBref).
Glenn Hoddle has now revealed that the England team should be build around three players including Mason Mount, Phil Foden and Declan Rice.
“Mason Mount is extremely talented as well,” Hoddle told BBC Sport.
“So with those two [Mount and Foden] to build around, we have really got something to go with in the next few years. The same applies to Declan Rice, who should become a fixture in the team.
“With those players involved then, whoever the opposition, the right balance is there.”
