Chelsea lost to Juventus when both sides met in Turin last month, as a tactically disciplined Juventus team frustrated Chelsea and got a 1-0 victory.
Chelsea play host to Juve at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, and for the Blues, this is not only a chance for revenge but also to be level on points with the Italians and fight to finish the group as group winners.
A draw for Chelsea will be enough to qualify the team to the next round of the competition, but Thomas Tuchel is targeting a victory.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has said that his side will fight with everything to win the game, but Tuchel also hinted that if the win isn’t possible, he’d settle for a draw and not risk the chance of missing out on qualification on Tuesday night.
“Firstly and foremost we do what we do when we play football games – we try to win them. This will not change,” said the Chelsea manager.
“Okay, late in the game if the score is a draw we will maybe not allow Edou Mendy to go into the opponents box when we have a late corner because we will not risk our qualification and go all in if the situation is like this, but until this moment, we will try everything to win the game and have a chance to win the group – and for this we have to win the game.”
