UEFA names Chelsea player as Man of the Match against Malmo. It’s not Ziyech or Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea beat Malmo 1-0 away in Sweden on Tuesday evening thanks to a second-half goal from Hakim Ziyech, after a brilliant pass from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Blues dominated Malmo and should have scored more if we had been more decisive and clinical in the final third.

Following the 1-0 victory over Malmo, UEFA named Chelsea midfielder Jorginho as Man of the Match after a brilliant performance in midfield for the Blues.

Explaining why Jorginho was named Man of the Match, UEFA Technical Observer Peter Rudbæk said: “Clever and skillful.

“He took care of the balance in the team, securing the defence and organising the first phase of the build-ups – with and without the ball.”
