According to Sky Sport Italia via Daily Mail, Serie A side AC Milan are hopeful of signing Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen in January.
Stefano Pioli’s side were dealt a heavy blow last weekend after Kjaer, 32, injured his cruciate ligament, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
AC Milan, led by sporting director Paolo Maldini, are on the hunt for cover this January and have reportedly identified Christensen as a potential option ahead of the January transfer window.
Christensen has not been a consistent starter for the Blues in recent weeks, with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel recently admitting that was because Christensen was yet to extend his Chelsea contract which expires at the end of the season.
Christensen, along with team-mate Malang Sarr, are understood to be options for Milan, while Lille star Sven Botman is thought of as a target for next summer.
AC Milan have a strong track record of doing business with the Blues. They have signed Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud and Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea in recent years.
