Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has tried to find playing time for Saul Niguez despite his struggles at the club this season.

The Spaniard was signed from Atletico Madrid to bring competition in the middle of the park for Chelsea, but the 27-year-old has failed to live up to the billing. He struggled on his debut and struggled in every other game he had played until recently.

However, Saul had a good game against Brentford in the League Cup clash on Wednesday night, and he also had good stats.

He completed 73 passes with a completion percentage of 91% — his best at the club since signing up for the Blues, and he earned the praises of his manager and the fans after the game.
