Chelsea vs Brighton is a game Chelsea should have won easily.

Romelu Lukaku scored a first half goal that set the pace for Thomas Tuchel’s side to take all three points from the game.

Chelsea missed a lot of chances to kill the game, chief of which was when Callum Hudson-Odoi was placed one on one with the goalkeeper, but he played a tame pass that was easily intercepted by the Brighton defender, as he tried to square the ball to Mason Mount.

At the end, Danny Welbeck made Chelsea pay for their missed chances with a dying minute header that split the points between the two sides.

Speaking after the game, Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta was unimpressed with the late goal conceded, and was more disappointed with the team’s missed chances.

“It’s really disappointing,” said the Chelsea skipper.

“Of course, we had chances to kill the game. They also had the chances. We left them alive and of course in the last minute to concede a goal and drop two points is very frustrating. We are not happy at all.”

“We knew Brighton make things difficult and we know they would press us high, and they would leave us big chances also for us, so we catch them in a few quick attacks where we could have been more clinical,” the captain added.

“They also had a few chances. They play good football and we had to cope again with two injuries at half-time and you know, that leaves us in a bad position. It is not an excuse, we worked hard, and we were close to the three points.”
