Chelsea have a number of top quality players in the team, and this period of Covid and injuries have shown just how much the team needs some players to be available.

From Thiago Silva to Antonio Rudiger, Ben Chilwell to Reece James, Ngolo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic as well as the impressive Mason Mount, Chelsea have a number of top players that are very indispensable.

However, stats have shown that Mateo Kovacic may just be the man who Chelsea can’t do without for a long time.

According to stats by WhoScored, Tuchel’s team had a win ratio of 87.5% with Kovacic starting in the league compared to 40% when he hasn’t started.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is pleased to have back Kovacic and N’Golo Kante.

Tuchel said after the Wolves game: “It’s not easy for him [Kante] because he’s been out a number of times, the same as well for Kova.

“But they came in, and they were lively.

“That’s very important for us because it’s clear we need them.”
