Conte reveals why he’s happy to meet Chelsea in Carabao Cup semi-final

Chelsea and Tottenham have been drawn to face each other in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup, and it’s a game Antonio Conte is looking forward to.

Conte was a fan’s favourite at Chelsea, as the Italian was very passionate during his two years at the club, and won the Premier League in his first season with Chelsea.

Chelsea defeated Brentford in the quarter-finals, while Tottenham beat West Ham, and the new Spurs boss has admitted that he’s happy to meet his former club.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Conte said: “For sure, it will be nice, good to play against Chelsea for me.

“I spent two amazing seasons with Chelsea and I enjoyed a lot, everything there.

“But now I am the manager of Tottenham and I am ready to give everything for this club.”

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel also reacted to drawing Spurs, as he admitted that it would be a good game for the fans.

“Tottenham is nice for our fans. A London derby, we are looking forward to it and we want to be there,” Tuchel said after the Brentford clash.

“I am absolutely happy about this result, a brilliant result and a brilliant performance given the situation.”
