Romelu Lukaku was signed to take Chelsea to the next level, as the club paid a club record £97.5m for the Belgian.

Lukaku started his Chelsea career in massive form as he registered four goals early on in his return to the club. However, the Belgian has not scored in his last 10 outings for the club, and that has been marred with injuries in-between.

Lukaku’s half-time introduction against West Ham yielded no good, as he didn’t have an impact in that game.

Meanwhile, Chelsea legend and former boss Frank Lampard has hinted that former Blue Eden Hazard could be the man to bring out the best in Lukaku.

Eden Hazard was a fans’ favourite during his time at Stamford Bridge, before an ill-advised move to Real Madrid.

The Belgian at the time was seen as the best player in the Premier League, and he bagged 110 goals and 92 assists in 352 games for Chelsea, before leaving for Madrid in a deal believed to be over £100m.

The Los Blancos are reportedly keen to cut their losses on Hazard and are ready to accept as little as £21m for the Belgian.

Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has hailed the struggling Real Madrid star and believes that he could still bring a spark to the team.

Lampard told Gary Neville in the Overlap show: “Eden was the best player in the Premier League. You could really feel the reliance had been on him.

“Gets us out of trouble on a bad day and he did it time and time again.”
