Jorginho beats Steven Gerrard’s record as he sets new Premier League record

Jorginho has set a new Premier League record, beating a record previously held by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier.

Jorginho set a new Premier League record following the victory at Aston Villa on Sunday after scoring twice from the penalty spot.

The Italian international has now converted 10 penalties in a calendar year – which is a new Premier League record. He beat the achievements of Matt Le Tissier and Stevie Gerrard, who each had nine goals from a penalty spot, according to TribalFootball.

Jorginho has played 23 matches in all competitions this season, scoring 9 goals and providing an assist.
