Chelsea legend Frank Lampard was part of the team’s Champions League winning story last season.
Lampard led the Chelsea team out of the Champions League group and also built a team from the academy alongside a fine mix of players he signed from that summer transfer window.
The club legend was eventually axed midway through the season, and Thomas Tuchel turned things around as he guided Chelsea to win the Champions League.
Lampard was responsible for signing Thiago Silva who has been a key player since joining the club.
Lampard has now revealed that his signing from PSG, Thiago Silva, acknowledged him after winning the Champions League.
Lampard told Sky Sports’ The Overlap: “It’s tough, it was a balance of things.
“I watched the Champions League final. You watch it and on a football level I can get excited, I can sort of say that part of that is me, Mason Mount played brilliantly in the final, [so did] Reece James, the goal goes from Mendy, to Chilwell to Mount to Havertz, I’m going, ‘that’s a bit of me there’.”
He then added: “Thiago Silva sent me a beautiful message after the game saying, ‘thanks for bringing me to the club and this happened’.”
