Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has surprised everyone with his comments, as the 28-year-old revealed he’s not happy with his situation at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel.

Lukaku also questioned Tuchel’s tactics and vowed to make a return back to Inter Milan.

“Physically I am fine. But I’m not happy with the situation at Chelsea,” he told Sky Italy.

“Tuchel has chosen to play with another system – I won’t give up, I’ll be professional. I am not happy with the situation but I am professional – and I can’t give up now.

“I think everything that happened last summer was not supposed to happen like this… how I left Inter, the way I left the club, how I communicated with Inter fans – this bothers me because it was not the right time.

“Now it’s the right time to share my feelings. I have always said that I have Inter in my heart: I know I will return to Inter, I really hope so. I am in love with Italy, this is the right moment to talk and let people know what really happened.

“I really hope from bottom of my heart to return to Inter not at the end of my career, but when I’m still at top level to win more together.

“I want apologise to the Inter fan, timing of my words was wrong: what you did for me will remain forever.”

Former England international Trevor Sinclair slammed Lukaku’s comment, and believes that he should apologise to the club as his comment was disrespectful to Chelsea, the manager, the owner of the club and also his teammates.

Sinclair told talkSPORT: “I’m in absolute shock. I was at Chelsea’s win against Villa and I watched him in the warm up.

“I was intrigued because he was out for a while and wondered what his mood was going to be like – he was smiling, laughing, he looked like he was loving being back in the Chelsea squad.

“The second-half performance cemented what I was thinking. He looked happy, he played happy, got a goal, an elite striker’s goal and then the third goal where he won the penalty I thought was one of the best runs to earn a penalty from him I’ve seen in a long time.

“For him to come out with those comments, I think he should be apologising to the Chelsea fans. That’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea fans.

“I think that’s so disrespectful to the Chelsea manager. I’d be astounded if he hadn’t had a conversation with Thomas Tuchel about this.

“He might not have got the answer he wanted but you don’t come out in public and say this. I think it’s disrespectful to his teammates and I think it’s disrespectful to the owner.

“He’s 28 years old. A lot of Chelsea’s front line will look up to Lukaku, I think he’s let them all down.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.

  1. I think this is the most unfortunate statement I have read from a professional footballer.
He is not the first and certainly will not be the last striker Chelsea will work with your n the future.
This is just those distraction that they are using to distabilise Chelsea FC.
First, it was a comment by Conte and now the subject matter is speaking out against the club that made him what he is today. Good luck to him.

I think Chelsea made a big mistake by letting Tammy Abraham leave. He scored goals for Chelsea and he left the club as the leading goal scorer. What more do you want from a striker.

Why blame Lukaku alone, how would you spend close to 100 million on a top performing player & keep him on the bench. It is a dent on his reputation and he the right express his mind. Chelsea were not patient with him first time around, he went somewhere to prove his worth. Now he is being disrespected by keeping him on the bench.
