A lot has been said about the talent and ability of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
Kante is known for his hard work and tenacity on the pitch, and also his humility, shyness and less flamboyant lifestyle, but Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has revealed that the Chelsea midfielder can also predict things.
According to Mendy, Kante made a massive prediction last season by revealing at the start of the Champions League campaign that Chelsea would win the Champions League.
“I have the best anecdote of the season. We were travelling with N’Golo, Kurt [Zouma] and Olivier [Giroud],” Mendy told BeIN Sports France as quoted by the Sun.
“N’Golo confidently said: ‘Guys I think this year we will win the Champions League. Yes, I don’t know, I have a feeling’. The first day.
“I told him to wait and see how the game [vs Sevilla] went tonight.
“That night we played Sevilla and honestly, it was the most difficult game we had in the group stage.
“They came to our pitch and they pushed us like crazy, they had the ball 70 percent of the time.
“N’Golo, I think he ran 13km. At the end of the game, I asked him again and he said: ‘I think we’ll wait a little bit before we say that’.”
True to Kante’s words, Chelsea went on to win the Champions League. The World Cup winner didn’t only go on to make the right predictions, but his man of the match displays in the semifinal and final helped Chelsea win the Champions League.
