Chelsea had been top of the table for some weeks now, but the Blues lost their top spot after West Ham defeated Chelsea 3-2 at the London Stadium.
Chelsea started match week 15 top of the table but ended up in 3rd after the loss to West Ham.
Liverpool usurped Chelsea at the top following their win over Wolves, as a late goal from Divock Origi sealed a 1-0 win for the Reds.
Origi’s goal ensured Liverpool went top of the table before Manchester City’s 3-1 win over Watford.
When asked about the significance of the result following Chelsea’s slip-up, Klopp told Sky Sports: “Yeah, but honestly other results are really not important.
“I don’t even know exactly how many points we have. We just have to win football games.
“Three days ago we played the derby and it’s easy to focus on the derby, obviously, because it’s the game of the year.
“And then you have this little drop, you need to in a recovery period where you switch off and don’t think about football for the next 72 hours. Then you start the machine again.”
