According to reports, Chelsea are in pole position to sign former Manchester United player, Deji Sotona.

Football Insider reports that Chelsea are working on a deal ahead of the upcoming January transfer window after failing to land the 19-year-old during the summer.

The 19-year-old is known for his blistering pace, and the forward was recorded as the fastest player when he was on the books of Man United.

Sotona has an Irish and Nigerian nationality and is currently one of the fastest players in the game.

Sotona reached a speed of 22.9mph, which was 1.2mph quicker than Diogo Dalot, the second-fastest player at Man United at the time.

The pacey forward left Man United in October of 2020 to join French club OGC Nice after rejecting a new deal to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

Moreso, Sotona’s future is in doubt at Nice following the departure of Patrick Vieira as manager last December.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
