Roma boss Jose Mourinho has perfect plan to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek in January

According to Italian media outlet Il Romanista via Daily Mail, Roma boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a January move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Mourinho has endured a mixed start to life as Roma boss and is desperate to improve his midfield by signing Loftus-Cheek.

Mourinho reportedly hopes former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham can convince his former Chelsea team-mate to ditch west London and join him in Italy.

The report claims Loftus-Cheek boosts of the characteristics that Mourinho is looking for in his new midfielder.

Roma are said to be keen on an initial loan deal with an option to buy and it’s believed they would be willing to cover Loftus-Cheek’s wages, believed to be around £170,000 per week.

Loftus-Cheek has played more under Thomas Tuchel in recent weeks but it remains to be seen the amount of game time he would receive when N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic return to the team.
