Chelsea have been heavily linked with Fenerbahce defender Attila Szalai over recent weeks as the Blues search for a replacement for Antonio Rudiger who is yet to extend his Chelsea contract which expires at the end of the season.

Hungary boss Marco Rossi had recently claimed that Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign the 23 year old Hungarian international ahead of the January transfer window.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to reveal what’s really going on between Chelsea and Attila Szalai.

Romano tweeted: “Chelsea have made no proposal to sign Attila Szalai. He’s been scouted for a long time as many other players in Europe, talk has never been opened.

“#CFC There’s nothing else going on with Szalai or Fenerbahce board as things stand.”
