According to ESPN, La Liga side Sevilla are willing to negotiate Jules Kounde’s transfer to Chelsea after both sides failed to reach an agreement last summer.
The Blues remain interested in signing Kounde and Sevilla are reportedly willing to drop their €80 million valuation.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen on sorting out his defence with key players out of contract in June, as well as seeing his side concede 11 goals in the past six matches.
Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta’s deal all expire in the summer.
Sevilla wanted €80million for Kounde last summer but are now willing to negotiate a fee between €50m-€60m for the France international, with the Spanish side also willing to let him leave in January.
Tuchel is a huge admirer of Kounde and the 23 year old centre-back is also keen on joining Chelsea. He agreed a five year contract with the Blues last summer only for the Blues to fail to reach an agreement with Sevilla.
