Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta has been a legend at the club since signing up in 2012.

Commitment, discipline, resilience, determination, courage — these are some of the attributes of the Spaniard who has been hailed by many of his teammates and ex teammates as Chelsea’s hardest worker in training.

Like they say, ‘all good things come to an end’. Azpilicueta’s zeal may not have dropped, but his performance has dropped of late.

Following his recent performance against Wolves where he had to be subbed off, some Chelsea fans believe that the end is probably near for Cesar at Chelsea.

At age 32, the Chelsea skipper is in the final year of his contract with the club, and some believe that it should be au revoir to Dave.

With 0 tackles and interceptions, his crosses were also poor and he could complete only two of his seven attempted long passes, Chelsea fan page @ExpectedChelsea dished out a tweet on Cesar during the game, and many fans chipped in with their response.

Lunatic8055: “Exactly. No wonder Tuchel prefers Chalobah or Christensen over him. Hopefully, he leaves next season on good terms.”

tsindiana_cfc: “He’s a club legend, will always be one. But perhaps renewing his deal isn’t worth it now, his game is definitely not what it was. Curse of old Chelsea fullbacks continue.”

mikeydean56: “Was happy to see him in the lineup but he wasn’t good enough today, his pace has completely left him and it clearly shows.”

Jay_Packed: “He’s been bad all season, I agree.”

Richie_Hadid87: “Let him leave for free. Been a quality player for us but it’s quite clear his time is up here… quite evident from the last three games especially.”

Blindz_M: “It’s time for him to go it’s been a good run but it would make sense for this season to be his last”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
