Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is happy to have guided his team to the Carabao Cup semi-finals, after the Blues defeated Brentford 2-0 at the Brentford Community Stadium on Wednesday night.

It wasn’t an easy game away at Brentford, but two second half goals late in the game gave Chelsea the desired victory.

One man who was outstanding in the game was Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Spaniard is Chelsea’s second choice at the moment, but he produced three top saves to keep Chelsea in the game in the first half.

After the match, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel was so full of praise for the Chelsea goalkeeper and hailed his character and sportsmanship.

Tuchel reserved praise for Kepa after the game: “I’m very happy and super impressed with Kepa. It’s not a surprise anymore but he’s in that state of mind as a person, a character and a sportsman where he just delivers.

“This is what he shows every day in training and that’s why he gets the rewards and has these kind of performances. He was a big factor today in the first half especially.”
