Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel clearly wasn’t happy with his decision to start N’Golo Kante against Wolves, and was even more disappointed that he had to play the Frenchman for the entire 90 minutes.

Tuchel has calls his actions irresponsible, and has vowed not to repeat that same act again.

Kante would be rested for the League Cup clash against Brentford on Wednesday, as the France international is being rested for the weekend clash against Aston Villa.

“What we did with N’Golo Kante for 90 minutes was close to irresponsible,” Tuchel said in his media conference today ahead of Wednesday night’s game.

“Will he be involved against Brentford? Simply no. We cannot do this and I will not do it.

“We will now give him time to recover and prepare for Aston Villa and this is the situation.”
