AC Milan and Chelsea negotiating the transfer of France centre-back

According to Italian media outlet Corriere della Sera report, AC Milan have approached Chelsea over the transfer of France centre-back Malang Sarr.

AC Milan Milan are in need of a new centre-back given that Simon Kjaer is out for the season and Fikayo Tomori had to recently undergo a surgery.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel might be reluctant to let Sarr leave the club this January as he is gradually becoming an important player for the Blues.

Chelsea also have our own injury issues in defence with Trevoh Chalobah currently injured and Andreas Christensen isolating after testing positive for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Sarr was expected to leave on loan last summer but his Deadline Day move to Eintracht Frankfurt failed to materialise.

“This is what we wanted in the summer (a loan move) and we had a deal practically done with Eintracht Frankfurt, but they could not move a player, so Malang stayed,” his agent Federico Pastorello told the Telegraph back in October.

“Let’s see in January what will happen. Maybe he can go on loan then because maybe he needs one or two seasons playing regularly before coming back, like many players in Chelsea have done.”

He has gone onto make eight appearances under Thomas Tuchel this season, with only one coming in the Premier League.
