Chelsea have big clashes coming up against Tottenham and Manchester City, and the Blues will be looking for favourable results in those games.

Chelsea legend Pat Nevin, has mentioned one man who mustn’t be dropped in those games — Mateo Kovacic.

The Croatian was a hero in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool as Chelsea bounced back to get a point in that game, and Nevin believes he’s the man for the big occasion.

Nevin wrote: “Mateo Kovacic was able to show why there is such an incredible gulf in class [against Chesterfield], all on his own. He is having an exceptional spell right now and considering the battle for that midfield berth, he actually looks undroppable for the biggest games on this form.”
