Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is having a phenomenal season on loan with Crystal Palace, and has been one of the best players for Patrick Vieira’s side.
Gallagher has been hailed for his energy in the middle of the park and also his work rate, but his goals have also seen him get comparisons with club legend Frank Lampard.
Speaking to Sky Sports, after his weekend’s performance where he scored against Brighton, the young midfielder insisted that he shouldn’t be compared with the legendary Frank Lampard.
“Let’s be serious… Frank Lampard, I can’t be compared to someone like that!” Gallagher told Sky Sports.
Gallagher who has scored seven goals so far this season in 18 appearances, has hailed his parent club Chelsea as one of the best in the world.
‘We know that Chelsea is one of the best teams in the world right now, it is a tough team to get into,’ Gallagher added.
‘I’m not really thinking about that at the moment, I’ll try and do my best for Crystal Palace.
‘The way football is goals and assists gets you praise like I have been getting. I need to continue to perform, not just goals and assists but I am happy with the way it is going so far.”
