Chelsea have a huge game at hand, as the Blues welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge, for a Premier League deciding clash.

It’s a game between 2nd and 3rd in the league, and it comes after Manchester City’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has made the decision to drop Romelu Lukaku from the squad for this clash following his controversial comment about the manager and the club.

Although the statement was made three weeks ago, it was only recently released, and it has now come to haunt the Belgian at a time when the team needs him most.

Lukaku has been in top form of late, and with 3 goals in his last 4 appearances, and Chelsea definitely need his services. Lukaku’s introduction saved the team against Aston Villa, and he was also excellent against Brighton, although Chelsea drew the game 1-1 following a late Danny Welbeck header.

Dropping Lukaku for this game was a huge call by the manager, because the team really need him most at this time. Not punishing him would also send out a wrong message, as no player should be deemed bigger than the club.

Surely, there is no winner in this situation, and it will be worse if Chelsea don’t win this evening, as the critics will blame the German for not playing his best striker.

What do you think of the Lukaku decision? Is the manager right to drop him for this game?
