‘He has learnt his lesson’ — Tuchel hailed for handling Lukaku saga maturely

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has been hailed for the way he handled the saga with Romelu Lukaku.

We’ve seen cases like these gone over the board if not properly handled, but Tuchel ensured that the noise around the incident didn’t go beyond necessary.

Romelu Lukaku was critical of the club and manager in an interview with Sky Italia, but Tuchel didn’t read too much meaning to it and handled it calmly by benching Lukaku for a game and letting it die off like that.

Tuchel refused to say much about Lukaku’s case afterwards and the Belgian as well issued an apology to the club and fans.

Liverpool legend Ian Rush has hailed the Tuchel for handling the matter really well, and believes Lukaku must have learnt his lesson.

“There’s no one bigger than the club, that’s what it is all about,” Ian Rush told Football Italia when asked about Romelu Lukaku’s controversial interview and Thomas Tuchel’s handling of the case.

“The club comes first and I thought it was an excellent decision by him to drop him.

“Lukaku will come back stronger and better. Lukaku has learned his lesson.

“If there are individuals that think they are better than the team, that creates problems but I think the coaches nailed it, it was an excellent choice from him.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
