Barcelona star Sergino Dest has been linked with a move to Chelsea this January but the right-back isn’t interested in leaving the Spanish side.
Despite seeing himself become the back-up right-back at Barcelona since the arrival of Dani Alves, the American is not thinking about leaving the Camp Nou amid interest from Chelsea.
Barcelona are open to the idea of selling Dest as it would allow them to balance their books and register players, such as new signing Ferran Torres.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is also keen on signing the American right-back, who can also play at left-back, due to injuries to Ben Chilwell and Reece James.
“Dest has no intention of changing clubs,” the American’s agent, Michael Reschke, told the German newspaper Bild.
So far this season, Dest has made 16 appearances for Barcelona, with 12 coming in LaLiga Santander and four in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Spanish media outlet Sport claims Tuchel’s No 1 target is 21-year-old Dest, who joined Barcelona from Ajax in October 2020 and has made 57 appearances for the Catalan side.
The report adds that Barca will not sell the United States international for less than €20m (£16.7m), but there could be room for negotiation given the club’s current financial position. Chelsea are prepared to pay the full fee this month.
