Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has named Kylian Mbappe as the player that he believes can change Chelsea into a title-winning force once again.

The Blues are out of the title race this season following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Manchester City. The Blues are now 13 points behind Manchester City.

Speaking on ESPN, Leboeuf was asked to name the signing that could close the gap between Thomas Tuchel’s team and Manchester City.

“Kylian Mbappe,” Leboeuf reaponded.

“The guy is free next summer and when I see the players up front, obviously Kylian Mbappe would make a huge difference for Chelsea.”

The 23-year-old’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain runs out in June and it appears he will not renew his stay with the French champions.

He has been strongly linked with a move to Spanish side Real Madrid at the end of the season but can Chelsea hijack the deal for the France international?

Mbappe played under Tuchel at PSG and he still holds the Chelsea boss in high regard.

“After the Euros, I’m going to call him (Tuchel) because I have a really good relationship with him,” said the PSG forward last June.
