‘I feel so sorry for him’ — Jamie Redknapp says after Tottenham defeat

Chelsea outclassed Tottenham over two legs as the Blues are through to the final of the Carabao Cup after a 3-0 aggregate victory.

Chelsea had won the first leg 2-0, and the Blues had one more leg to go before reaching the final, and it was another easy 1-0 win for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Liverpool legend Jamie Redknapp was critical of Antonio Conte’s tactics, and he believes that one of the key problems of the formation was Conte’s decision to field right-back Matt Doherty as a left wing-back.

“They’ve had no real cohesion Spurs. I think if it’d been square pegs in round holes… it hasn’t worked with Doherty as left wing-back,” he said.

“I think he’s got to make a change there, maybe get Sessegnon on at left wing-back, at least you get a bit of momentum as a position.

“Every time that ball comes to Doherty I feel sorry for him because he’s got to keep coming back on his right foot, you get nothing down that left hand side at all.”
