Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku was dropped from the squad to face Liverpool on Sunday, after his controversial interview with Sky Italia.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel refused to say too much about the situation of the 28-year-old, but revealed that a final decision will be made after a meeting with the player on Monday.

It’ll be difficult for the Belgian to prove his love to the Blues faithful, after Chelsea spent nearly £100m on his signing, and he went on to profess his love for Inter Milan and his desire to go back.

According to reports, former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard reached out to Lukaku for clarification on the matter, but the Belgian claimed he would say more after his meeting with the manager, claiming that the situation was hot at the time.

According to NBC Sports, Lukaku’s response to Howard was: “I can’t say too much. The situation is hot.

“I have another meeting on Monday. After that, I can say more.”
