Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has claimed Chelsea loanee Armando Broja wants to extend his stay at Southampton.
The 20 year old joined Southampton on a season-long loan deal last summer and has scored seven goals in 19 appearances so far.
Broja delivered another impressive display in Southampton’s 4-1 win over Brentford on Tuesday evening and after the match, Hasenhuttl suggested that the Albania international could remain at St Mary’s for another season.
When asked if he believes Broja’s stay at Southampton could be extended, Hasenhuttl replied as quoted by Metro: “Sure, he likes it here.
“He loves it here. It would be great if he was our player, he wants to be with us I think, you can feel this in every moment.
“The fans love him meanwhile, good.”
Speaking after the game, Broja told BBC’s Match of the Day: “The reception here has been amazing, they have made me feel at home, it’s going well.
“I don’t think too much about stuff outside of football, I’m trying to help my team with goals, assists and points and overall performances.
“It’s going well, I’m trying to keep focussed and I don’t think too much about that stuff. I’m young so it’s important for me to keep my feet on the ground and just keep helping the team so I just try to help the team as much as possible.
“To come from the Dutch league to the Premier League is a big step, I had to learn very quickly how the Premier League is.
“It’s amazing, the best league in the world so it’s very tough but the experienced boys have all helped me and helped me settle in. I’m just enjoying my football at the moment, it’s going well.”
